Inside a colonial Lima house in Barranco is AWICHA, a restaurant of contemporary Peruvian cuisine which uses as base the Peruvian native roots of our chef, French, Italian and Japanese cuisine to create our own style of cuisine.
AWICHA is led by chef Jason Roman who is convinced that a seasonal evolutionary cuisine can be made in perfect harmony with the products that Peru can offer us.
Our imposing central kitchen allows a harmonious coexistence between chefs and our customers offering a unique and dynamic experience.
From the execution of our dishes to the coffee we serve, they manage to captivate anyone who is willing to try new experiences.

“What instantly made us fell in love was its concept, few tables, intimate place and a kitchen that proudly emerges in the center of the room. And we say emerge because it is a kitchen that stands out, high and open, where you can see them and they see you. Time seems to stop between these walls and you let yourself be enveloped by the magnificent background music that will accompany you at all times. ”

Awicha was one of our favorite experiences in Lima. A perfect mix of Peruvian tradition fused with Mediterranean flavors. The owners were very kind and happy to share stories and their love of food. We ordered the grilled calamari and sautéed shrimp to start. Next the octopus and the Peruvian duck ceviche was out of this world. The boudin was the perfect finish to this magical meal. Our only regret was not having enough room to try more dishes. We can’t wait to find our way back to barranco to return to this gem!

Jason Roman, the chef, brings incredible value to the local products and make you travel around Peru with a touch of fren cuisine. Highly recommend the place which serve bistronomic food at a decent price. The restaurant itself is really comfortable and has the particularity of having the kitchen standing in the middle of it. Thanks again for the warm welcome and the lovely food.
